Inauguration Day & Our Community Arts Celebration

I hope you enjoyed the celebrations of hope and unity as much as we did at the neighborhood organized "Kids for Peace & Unity" event in Los Angeles, CA! Local parents and artisans led painting, beading, origami, storytelling and dance activities.

Thanks to a few community arts advocates who invited families into their homes for hands-on art, people came together to create, collaborate and have fun with art. Now that's Art with Heart!

Fabric Quilts - Button 'em Up!

Have you discovered the easy way to create wall hangings with Button Up Quilt squares? These fabric squares make fabric quilts so quick and easy, you'll wonder how you ever did collaborative art without them! The photos here show a Baby Shower Quilt "in the making" but you'll find yourself adapting this concept to many different themes.

Find fabric quilt squares in three different versions: With photo inserts (shown here), with plain white canvas fabric, or with colored fabrics. Use any fabric paints, or try the combination of Colorations Liquid Watercolor, BioColor, and stamping sticks with Metallic Stamp Pads shown here. Have each participant create one fabric square, them button them all together to assemble. Each square comes with buttons and loops already pre-sewn onto each corner.
